In this article I breakdown some really interesting news regarding Jurassic World 3 the upcoming sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom coming in 2021. I also discuss twitter interactions with the cast and crew, as well as what it means to me to be a part of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World fan community.
So this is my first blog post of 2020! Hurrah! The January exams are now over and I will be moving onto my Palaeobiology dissertation soon, so there is lots to look forward to over the coming months. What a way to start writing for Jurassic Finds again though with some really interesting news! This article will not be focusing on a new palaeontology discovery (I have plans this coming week for that), no this article is going to focus on a Tweet that I put out on the 21st of January 2020 and the craziness that has ensued since.
So I put this tweet out below about potential Jurassic World 3 titles and title suggestions from the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World fandom. I tagged director and script writer Colin Trevorrow, script writer Emily Carmichael and producer Frank Marshall. I did not expect however the overwhelming amount of replies that this tweet would generate, nor that Colin and Emily would both end up replying to it. The tweet has had over 3,000 interactions and over 43,000 views as of right now which is pretty incredible stuff.
Here is the Tweet asking Jurassic World fans their ideas for title suggestions.
Ok #Jurassic Twitter what do you think @JurassicWorld 3 will be called? My Top 3 are Jurassic World: Survival, Jurassic World: Clash of Worlds, Jurassic World: Illusion of Control. Let’s hear your suggestions! @colintrevorrow @LeDoctor @emilycarmichael#jurassicworld #JW3 pic.twitter.com/rVIcoGLhdT

Colin’s first reply in the Jurassic World title suggestion thread.
I am enjoying this.

Colin stating that one fan has got the title right! We will have to wait for an official title release though Colin has commented a reply relating to the title suggestion Jurassic World: New Era. So this could be the title?
Wow, somebody in this thread actually got it. Respect.

The tweets also appeared in a video breakdown by Youtuber Swrve who discussed their implications, which was a welcome surprise as I didn’t think many people would cover the info in a video as it has all played out on twitter. The interactions on twitter with Colin Trevorrow are not the first time that I have had such interactions with any of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World cast and crew. On the 5th of January 2018 Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill (@twopaddocks) responded to a rather silly tweet from me about Bob Pecks socks in Jurassic Park. This twitter response was a year before I would actually get to meet Sam in person at Wales Comic Con in 2019.
Reply from Sam Neill.
Bob Peck was such a great actor , he could make red socks look brown. https://t.co/lQGjx6wPhn

On the 5th of February 2018 Colin Trevorrow responded to my tweet about the viral marketing of The Dinosaur Protection Group (@DinoProtectGrp) for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
True story: the DPG site is written by a team of JP fans who are now our creative partners. When I have questions about canon, they set me straight. The new trilogy is built for a new generation, but not at the expense of the fandom. Without them we’re nothing… https://t.co/Uiwr6DlEdt

Then on the 22nd of June 2018 Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom director JA Bayona responded to my Tweet about Toby Jones role in Fallen Kingdom.
Extraordinary actors don’t do just a great performance they also do the movie better. That is the case of Toby Jones. https://t.co/CbdCbwfanN

As well as these interactions I have also had interactions (likes on Twitter) from B.D. Wong (@BD_WONG) (Dr. Henry Wu) and Ariana Richards (@GalleryAriana) (Lex Murphy). I have to say it is pretty incredible the level of Jurassic Park/Jurassic World interactions I have managed to gain on Twitter not just with the cast and crew but fans across the world over the past few years. The Jurassic community is incredibly welcoming, supportive and special. It continues to grow year by year and I am always amazed by the amount of effort the fans put into their fan accounts, podcasts, YouTube channels and Instagram collectors pages. It truly is a fantastic community to be a part of, and it means a lot to me to play a small role in it all, especially for The Jurassic Park Podcast where I am a writer and contributor.
With the most recent twitter interactions over the title for Jurassic World 3 I for one cannot wait for the new film, having loved both Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The fact that Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum will be appearing in major roles in the upcoming film fills me with utter joy and I really can’t wait to see how it will turn out.
I have plans for two more articles this coming week so you can look forward to these soon! If you aren’t following already please give the blog a follow!
