Dinosaurs were one of the most successful groups of animals to live on the planet. Covering over 170 million years of Earth history.

From the towering giants of the past to the feathered marvels of today celebrating the living legacy of dinosaurs through science and storytelling. Through science communication, I aim to bridge the gap between complex palaeontology research and public understanding bringing prehistoric life to the forefront of imagination.

Making palaeontology accessible through engaging storytelling has been a rewarding experience bringing the Mesozoic Era to life. My goal is to spark curiosity about dinosaurs helping the public better understand their lives and ancient environments. Even though non-avian dinosaurs are extinct we still have avian dinosaurs with us today, in the birds!

Beyond research and consulting, I engage in science communication through podcasts and media making palaeontology more accessible to a wider audience. Appearing on the Shine Bright Like the Firmament Podcast I had the opportunity to delve into my faith and career development, covering not just my palaeontological research but how I ended up pursuing palaeontology as a career path.

February 2025- Shine Bright Like the Firmament Podcast 🎙️ – Conversations with science professionals who are practicing Catholics to show that faith and science don’t need to be mutually exclusive. In episode 74, Madeline chats with James Ronan, a British palaeontologist about faith and science. The episode aired on the 26th of February 2025.

Stuck on Sorna Podcast

My appearances on the Stuck on Sorna podcast enabled people to learn a bit about the palaeontological depictions of the Pteranodons in Jurassic Park 3 and my relationship with the Jurassic Park film franchise.

October 2022 – Stuck on Sorna with Daniel Stephen 🎙️. Part 2: An Abrupt Ending. I discuss the rumours for JP4 and the wait for Jurassic World, 12:27-15:28. The episode aired on the 14th of October 2022.

October 2021 – Stuck on Sorna with Daniel Stephen 🎙️. Billy Brennan and the Design of Suspense. I discuss the palaeontological depictions of the Pteranodons in Jurassic Park 3. The episode aired on the 24th of October, 2021.

The Jurassic Park Podcast

Appearing on the Jurassic Park Podcast I delved into the palaeontological depictions of the dinosaurs in the film franchise alongside Conor O’Keeffe. We worked through the various dinosaur species within the hadrosaurids and ceratopsians to rate how palaeo accurate each INGEN film version was.

Jurassic World: Dominion Discussion

February 2022 – Featured in Why Jurassic World: Dominion Has More Accurate Dinosaurs with Klayton Fioriti 📹. I consulted for Klayton on accurate dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Dominion for this video. I provided information on the anatomical changes made to the Parasaurolophus, compared to past versions seen throughout the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise. The video aired on the 7th November, 2022.

February 2025- Featured in Why the new Raptor in Jurassic World: Rebirth looks so different? with Klayton Fioriti. Photos and discussion from 4:28-5:06 minutes. 🎥 Klayton covers the Lost World: Jurassic Park Velociraptor concept art which I made him aware of, its relation to a scene in the Jurassic World: Rebirth trailer. The video aired on the 20th of February 2025.

November 2020 – Jurassic World interview 🎤 with Jurassic World actor Colby Boothman. James interviews Colby Boothman and discusses making Jurassic World and Colby’s views on palaeontology. I was fortunate to be able to interview Colby Boothman in this video discussing his acting and DJ career. We talked at length about Jurassic World, palaeontology and Colby’s work in movies.
