Tell us a bit about your Earth Science experience and passion

“I am passionate about vertebrate palaeontology and communicating this to the public both in person and online.”

From January 2024 to February 2025, I served as an Ambassador for the Jurassic Coast Trust, dedicated to preserving the UNESCO World Heritage status of this iconic 95-mile coastline. Spanning over 185 million years of geological history from the Triassic to the Cretaceous, the Jurassic Coast is a remarkable record of Earth’s past. My role focused on science communication, outreach, and fostering public engagement with palaeontology.

Connecting Communities to the Jurassic Coast

My interview, featured in Time to Inspire Magazine (Issue 18, Spring/Summer 2024, pages 8‑11), explores my work with the Jurassic Coast Trust and the importance of preserving this living geological record. Below, image spreads capture my relationship with the Jurassic Coast, my palaeontology research, and fossil-hunting ventures.

Science Communication & Public Engagement

My science communication efforts included ambassador blogs for the Jurassic Coast Trust and engagement through their Instagram page.

Ambassador Blog: Insights into faunal diversity and the significance of the Jurassic Coast.

Instagram Outreach: Adapted palaeontology fieldwork into engaging content for the Jurassic Coast Trust’s Instagram, showcasing my June 2024 excavations in Montana and its connections to Dorset’s prehistoric biodiversity.

So, ultimately where would you like your research to lead you?

“My aims are to build upon my current experience and gain more specific experience in fieldwork overseas. I would love to visit the US and Canada to dig up dinosaur bones out in the field.”

Educate. Inspire. Join me in sharing the Jurassic Coast’s story and making palaeontology accessible to all. Support science communication today!
