In this article I cover the latest trailer release from Universal Pictures for the upcoming summer blockbuster film Jurassic World: Rebirth.

We have been waiting a long time for the first official footage for Jurassic World: Rebirth. The film logo and synopsis were first dropped by Universal Pictures on the 29th August 2024, six months ago. Vanity Fair released some new images and dropped some spoiler filled information about the film yesterday. This afternoon the trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth finally released, and the film looks glorious! You can find out more and watch the new trailer below!

Jurassic World: Rebirth Synopsis

Before checking out the latest trailer it might be good to catch up with the synopsis of what this new Jurassic World film is about.

Five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

Academy Award® nominee Johansson plays skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world’s three most massive dinosaurs. When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.

Ali is Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team leader; Emmy nominee and Olivier Award winner Jonathan Bailey (Wicked, Bridgerton) plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Emmy nominee Rupert Friend (Homeland, Obi-Wan Kenobi) appears as Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer, Murder on the Orient Express) plays Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked civilian family.

Jurassic World: Rebirth Trailer

Here is the official first trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth.

The new trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth looks fantastic and I can’t wait to see the film this July. It will be interesting to see how the story of the film plays out given script writer David Koepp has said that he re-read the original Jurassic Park novels to get into the right headspace to write Rebirth.

The Jurassic World: Rebirth Big Game Spot released during the Super Bowl on the 9th of February.

It has already been confirmed that the river raft chase sequence with the Tyrannosaurus rex featured in the Jurassic Park novel will be shown in this new film. You see some shots of the Rex attacking one of the civilian group in the river in the trailer.

Overall I think the trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth is epic. Whilst I have my reservations about the design of the mutant dinosaur, it does seem like Steven Spielberg and David Koepp have decided to focus on INGEN’s past genetic engineering troubles as a focus for this films story.

It is the right decision as it is such a key part of the original Jurassic Park novels. I just hope the different dinosaur designs are explained, especially the mutant dinosaurs, which until now have been kept a secret within the film’s established story canon. David Koepp has confirmed that there will be no retcons and all the canon of the films matters so, I will be interested to find out whether John Hammond and Benjamin Lockwood knew about these failed genetic experiments.

I will be reviewing the film once it releases as I have previously for Jurassic World: Dominion. You can read my review for Jurassic World: Dominion here. It is a very exciting time to be a Jurassic fan, and I cannot wait to see more footage and images from the film as we near the film’s release.
