In this article I share a new video talk from Professor Steve Brusatte at the Society of Vertebrate Palaeontology, covering his consultancy work on Jurassic World: Dominion. You can find out more below!

I did not expect to be sharing some new info regarding Jurassic World: Dominion in November 2023 but here we are. Professor Steve Brusatte the palaeontological consultant for Jurassic World: Dominion has given a new talk, covering the behind the scenes consultancy work that went into the creation of the dinosaurs and creatures in the film.

This talk was given remotely as part of the Society of Vertebrate Palaeontology virtual meeting.

You can check out Steve’s talk in the video below.

The talk by Steve is a very insightful video and a must watch for anyone interested in the palaeontological consultancy work that goes into a big blockbuster dinosaur film.

There are some fun and interesting pieces of information in this talk that have not been released to the public before. Such as Colin Trevorrows first email to Steve asking him if he would like to get involved in working on the film. Steve goes into detail about collaborating with director Colin Trevorrow and the production designer Keven Jenkins.

I have covered Jurassic World: Dominion a lot on the blog over the past few years. You can check out my written review of the theatrical and extended cut of the film here.

I have been working hard to improve the scicomm of the website this year, with a number of pages being added to increase the science communication capacity of the website. The dinosaur fact file tab is the place to explore for dinosaur palaeobiology and you can find all my science communication outreach links at the scicomm links page as well.
